Organs and body structures are beginning to take form.
The heart beats in a customary rhythm.

Muscles and nerves are coordinated. Baby can make a fist.

The second trimester of pregnancy refers to a fetus at 24 weeks gestational age. At this stage, the baby is about 12 inches long and weighs approximately 1 1/2 pounds.
