Fetal ultrasound images - 7 months

As your baby grows, she'll have less room to move around in your womb (uterus), so you may notice that her kicks feel a bit different. But she should still be moving as often as before. If you notice that she's moving less, contact your doctor immediately.

Your baby is continuing to swallow amniotic fluid. Incredibly, the food you eat can change the flavour of the fluid, and your baby's brain and tastebuds are now developed enough for her to taste these different flavours. When she starts solid foods at about six months old, she may even prefer the foods she tasted while she was in the womb!

By the end of this month, your baby may start getting ready for birth by changing position so that her head is pointing down. The bones in her head won't fuse together until after the birth. This makes it easier for her to travel through the birth canal. At 33 weeks, your baby may measure over 43.7cm (17.2in) from head to heel, and weigh about 1.9kg - almost as much as a pineapple (ananas).

Note: Every baby develops differently. This page is designed to give a general idea of how a fetus grows in the womb.
