8 weeks pregnant but measuring 6 weeks?

8 week scan measuring at 6 weeks


I went in for my 8 week scan yesterday and after doing an internal ultrasound my obstetrician told me I am measuring at 6+2 weeks and she couldn | t see a heartbeat (which is apparently quite normal for 6 weeks) I was certain I was 8+4 weeks according to my dates and first positive pregnancy tests.

She sent me for bloods and HCG is at 78,900 which she said was good news and has me booked for another scan next week to see if there have been any changes.

I | m wondering if anyone else has been in this situation before? It wasn | t we were expecting as I haven | t had any spotting/cramps and it really caught be off guard. I am preparing for the worst but also trying to stay optimistic which is really hard. Waiting until next week will feel like forever.
